Android · private storage cleaner

Find what fills your phone. Clear it in a few taps.

ClutterScrub scans your photos, videos and audio for exact duplicates, similar and poor-quality photos, big videos, screenshots and messaging-app media. You choose what goes, in a grid or one by one with a swipe. By default Android's own trash takes it, after the system asks you, and keeps it for 30 days in case you change your mind.

What it finds

Every number is a real file you can open.

ClutterScrub scans this profile's photos, videos and audio on your phone and sorts what it finds into review screens. You see every item, in a grid or one at a time, before anything moves.

01

Exact Duplicates

Copies are matched by a full SHA-256 fingerprint of each file, never by name, so a group always means identical bytes. The oldest copy in your camera folder is suggested as the keeper; tap a star to keep another.

02

Similar Photos

Burst shots and re-saved copies, grouped by a visual fingerprint with a slider from near-identical to loosely similar. Each group leads with its sharpest shot as the one to keep, and nothing is ticked for you.

03

Compare Up Close

Tap a similar photo to see it full screen beside the keeper: one above the other on a phone, side by side on a wider screen. Zoom one and both zoom, so you judge the same detail.

04

Review One by One

Tap the swipe icon on Photos, Videos, Screenshots or Messaging media to go through a month at a time: right keeps, left marks for the trash. Nothing moves until you check what you marked.

05

Poor-Quality Photos

Blurry shots, camera photos that came out too dark or too bright, and low-resolution images. The Quality menu on the Photos screen shows them, each photo labelled with why; a score never removes anything by itself.

06

Big Videos and Large Files

Every review screen has a Large only filter. Videos count as large from 100 MB, photos from 10 MB and audio from 25 MB, and each threshold is yours to change.

07

Screenshots

Screenshots and screen recordings in one grid, with age filters for anything older than 30 days, 90 days or a year.

08

Messaging-App Media

Photos, videos and audio that chat apps keep in their shared media folder, grouped by app, so a year of forwarded clips is one screen to review.

09

Apps by Size

Turn on Usage access, which is optional, to see which apps hold the most space with their data and cache. Each row opens that app's own Settings page; ClutterScrub never clears anything there itself.

10

Weekly Reminder

Off until you turn it on: a weekly rescan while your phone is idle, and one notification when a category grows by more than the amount you pick. Nothing is removed by itself.

11

A Trash You Can Undo

Move to trash puts files in Android's own trash for 30 days, and Restore brings them back. Delete permanently, when you choose it, frees the space today. The Trash screen tells you when the oldest item leaves.

12

Cleared So Far

A running total of what you have cleared, after each cleanup and in Settings. Files in the trash count as cleared but keep their space until it empties, so the total never calls them freed.

Nothing goes until Android asks you.

ClutterScrub cannot remove a file by itself. Each batch you pick goes to Android as a request, the system shows its own confirmation, and only then is anything moved or deleted.

The system asks

Allow ClutterScrub to move 12 photos to trash?

Android's own confirmation, for every batch of up to 250 items. Deny, and nothing in that batch moves.
Then the trash window
  1. Day 0Moved to the trash. The file keeps its space until the trash empties.
  2. Until day 30Restore puts it back. Delete permanently frees the space today.
  3. Day 30The system deletes it for good.
